Nordic Paragliding Open 2010 - 12th to 19th of June 2010 - Vågå, Norway
The Nordic Paragliding Championship is a yearly category 2 “open” event hosted on different spots throughout Europe. It is a collaboration of the Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Icelandic and Danish national championships. This year, the first time in the history of the Nordic Championships, the competition is placed in a Nordic country. The country is Norway and the place is Vågå. This place has been a natural take-off for some of the longest XC-flights in Norway, and up to this date annually been a site for hang glider and paraglider competitions. The 4th European paraglider championship was held here in 1996.
Just outside the town of Vågåmo lies the National Center for Hang- and Paragliding.
At the national center you can accommodate at low prices, surf the internet, eat breakfast and make dinner, buy food and drinks, watch satellite TV or just relax with other pilots. The landing is just outside the door. The HQ of the competition will be at this center.
Number of participants

The competition is open for 120 pilots. Until 15th of March all places are reserved for Nordic pilots, that means pilots living in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark or Iceland, or pilots with a nationality from one of those countries. Pilots not meeting these criteria can still participate if there are open spots after 15th of March.

If certificate details are not available the pilot will lose his/her place to a pilot on the waiting list.
Waypoints

The final waypoint-list we will use for the competition will be given on the registration-day the 12th of June. Remember to bring your instrument cable with you.
Most of the waypoints we will use will be the same as the ones used under Vågå PG Open 2009. You can download these here:

Waypoints, KML-format (Google Earth) >>
Communication Equipment

Radios covering 154.175 MHz band must be carried in flight by all participating pilots.
GPS

3D track-log from a GPS will be used for flight validation. Each pilot must be equipped with at least one GPS with the ability to record a 3D track log and must be able to communicate with GPSDump. If the primary GPS fails, a second GPS, also with a 3D track-log, is acceptable to validate a competitors flight, provided there is no dispute over the flight.
Online tracklog delivery

To make it easier for competitors and the organizers all tracklog deliveries will be done through this web page. That means you have to download your tracklog with GPS Dump, then upload the .kml-file through a form that will be available at this web page. This also mean that you have to bring your own cable! There will be public available computers at the national center to do this, but you can also do it from your own pc or mac.
GPSDump you will find here >>
