There is no competition without pilots, if you do not fly there is no point in being here.
The team, Clube Vertical, thanks all the pilots. You guys were great and made our life easy.
We would also like to thank Mads, who invited us to support this competition.

It has been a pleasure! We will be here if you ever wish to come back...
Fly High and Far! Land Safe!

And the final results are published.

We had a nice party last night, with good food and drink aplenty, and for free! All in all this has surely been the best value comp I have had the pleasure of attending and one I'll have a hard time repeating, as an organiser, ever!

All this obviously because I had the whole of the local Clube Vertical behind me; in reality, once the comp started I didn't need to worry more about it because it was already in competent hands. I'd like once again to thank all these people, both the very visible ones, like Mané, Vitor, Bruno and Miguel, and the less visible ones that were no less important in getting things to run so smoothly! Thanks guys - you're all great!

The Municipal Council of Manteigas also deserves a big THANKS - their support made all the little "extras" possible, and that was what made this event stand out from the rest (along with four good tasks obviously!). I think many pilots would be happy to come back here again some time, and that would surely make the local village happy!

The final rankings will be Online later today, says Bruno, and then this instalment of the Nordic Open is over - thank you all for supporting the event, even the ones who only followed from the side line on the LiveTracking, and I look forward to seeing where we will all meet next year!

Mads S, signing out from the HQ at the SkiParque!

We're back at the HQ after a long and challenging task to Castelo Branco, some 80km in total. The task was won by either Geoff Wong (AUS, R10.2) or Claudio Virgilio (PRT, Boom 8). Third in goal was myself (Edge XR), with Ronny Helgesen (NOR, R11) in fourth. Since I was leading the comp going into today, ahead of Ronny, and Geoff and Claudio were a little lower in the rankings, that probably means that I'm the new Nordic Champion (no scores out yet though!). If so I must say that pleases me no end, and thanks to all of you who let me get ahead ;-)

We have the Prize Giving as soon as possible in the SkiParque restaurant, and then it is time to PARTY!

I'll be back with a more comprehensive report asap, now it is time to go and jump in the river!

Mads S, Meet Head

Hi All,

Today is the final day of the event, and with the points spread being quite tight anything can happen :-D

The weather forecast is for light Northerlies and at the moment we don't know if we'll be going to D01 or D02 - a final decision will be made at 1030h, and until then pilots are encouraged to wait at the Beach Bar!

See you on launch, wherever it may be!
