Welcome to the cyberhome of the 2012 Nordic Open. This is where all things related to the upcoming competition, scheduled for July 23rd to July 29th, both days included, will be made available.
UPDATE: Today is April 16th and 55 pilots have confirmed their participation - this means we still have 70 open places, and with new registrations coming in almost every week I have no doubt that we'll have a full comp!
As of today, no places are reserved for Nordic pilots any more - so first paid, first in! Please remember that after May 16th the price goes up by 20EUR...

The site - Àger in the Spanish Pyrenees
The village of Àger has hosted a number of large and smaller events in recent years, not least a few World Cups and the Womens Opens. Situated on the South side of the Pyrenees, the site has an excellent track record for tasks. The competition HQ is located at the local camp site, just as the official landing is here. This gives the whole event a profoundly sociable character, since most of the pilots will likely be staying in the same spot, and landing there in the evenings as well.
Updated accomodation information
Hi All,
I'm in Àger at the moment (April 29th) and have arranged some simplifications with regards to the booking of accomodation. Read more here. There is also good news for those wishing to arrange transport from Barcelona airport to Àger, in that the camping here will coordinate, and offers 8-seater vans for 200€UR one way - provided they manage to fill your van, that translates into 25€UR/person, and that is a very good price!

The Registration Process
As usual, registering for the Nordic Open is done Online through this site. The registration fee of 175€ covers:
- Daily transport to launch from the comp HQ
- Retrieves from remote goals and along the course line, following main routes (we encourage pilots to take responsibility for making the retrieve work well by getting themselves to main traffic arteries before calling for retrieves)
- Lunch packs
- T-shirt or equivalent
- Live Tracking
- Welcome and farewell parties - precise contents to be specified later
- Trophies for the Overall categories (Open, Serial or whatever the categories will be called...)
- Daily scoring
